Six Podium Places

Six Podium places over the weekend but for once in a while, no Victories. Riders from Team Jewson—M.I.Racing—Thule  contested 4 different disciplines of Cycle Racing over last weekend, all with outstanding success. Coventry’s Stacey Penn, fresh from her Great Britain selection for World Championships last week, Stacey competed in the British Sprint Triathlon Championships at Olney, Northamptonshire on Sunday finishing a very close 3rd. Stacey was leading coming to the end of the final run when with other  Elite competitors, they caught up with the earlier starting older ones, and in the mix up 2 other ladies got past, with Stacey in 3rd place at 7 secs. But still a brilliant performance. Jewson’s other top Triathlete, Samantha Anderson (Coventry), chose to ride a Time Trial, and finished a brilliant 2nd in the Echelon 23 ml hilly event, as part of the Midland Spoco series, which she is now in 2nd place. Whilst the Teams 3rd Lady on the Podium was Hanneke van der Werf, who competed in a 12hr Mountain Bike Endurance race at Earlstoke, and again claimed 3rd place, a very tough event in the warm weather, requiring good planning with feeding/drinking arrangements to keep going. On the Road, the very powerfull male section of the Team failed to get any victories, but again some excellent results. Competing in the U.K.’s top race for Veterans, Round 3 of the “Percy Stallard” National series, promoted by Stratford C.C. and sponsored by “Rotor” on the tough Brailes/Tysoe circuit.
