Shipston on Stour youngster Jonathan Wears once again just missed out on a Podium place, this time it was in the Holm Valley 25 mile Time Trial in Yorkshire.  Jonathan finished in 5th place, a few seconds behind the 3rd place rider with a fast time of 55mins 46 secs.  The event was held in very windy conditions. Added another British Cycling Championship to his collection, when he won the T.L..I. National Circuit Championships at Rhyl , N.Wales Mick is the current British Cycling Circuit Champion.–What was most remarkable was that this was  only Mike’s 2nd Race this season , due to Injury, Early in the 1 hour and 5 laps race, he bridged across to the lone leader, and despite strong winds making things exceptionaly hard, the 2 were never seen again by the rest of the field–Mike left his rival , near the finish to cross the line alone, This is the 7th British Championship the Team has won this season , and the 2nd in 7 days .  Team member 68 yr old Mike Allan–who has been side lined with a broken wrist, was back in action on Saturday at Darley Moor circuit nr Ashbourne , Derbyshire. Former British Champion and World Masters Silver Medalist  77 year old Jack Watson won the British Veterans Road Race Championships for riders 75 years and over with Team Mate and former World Masters Track Champion and Ex Professional Derrick Woodings in 2nd place. The event took place Near Your on an undulating course made very hard by the strong winds and was over a distance of 57 miles. The defending champion was Team Jewson’s Boss, Mick Ives, but he was unable to compete as he is preparing to go into hospital for an operation, otherwise it could well have been 1,2,3 for the Coventry based Team. This now means that the M.I.Race Team have won 2 UCI World Masters Championships–1 European Championship and 6 British Championships since Jan 1st this year. The Teams success didn’t stop there – Warwick Team member Jon Stevenson, completely dominated Stage 4 of the Tour of the Abberleys Stage Race held on the Worcester/Herefordshire borders.  Taking advice from his Team Boss, Stevenson attacked early in the race, breaking clear with a small group on one of the many tough climbs, and then with just 12 miles to go attacked again, taking just 1 other rider with him and working well together they rode away from the rest of the race, with Stevenson riding clear of his companion in the closing stages. His lead moved him up into 2nd place overall after the 3 tough days of racing against the best Veterans in the U.K.–his best performance this season. Trike specialist Gary Guntrip, gave the team more success when he finished 2nd in the latest...
