A full podium at the Midlands XC Series

Coventry based Cycling Team were successful in events all over the U.K.at the weekend. New signing Mountain Bike rider Kirby Bennett was in cracking form winning his first event for his new team just 2 days after joining. Kirby won the Friday Evening Mountain Bike Series event at Kilworth, Leicestershire, after a race long battle with team mate Peter Busby (who finished 2nd), with their other team mate Tim Stowe in 5th place. Then just a day and half later, all 3 riders were racing in Round 4 of the Midland Mountain Bike series in the Wyre Forest. Once again Kirby Bennett was the winner, with Pete Busby 2nd and Tim Stowe, having his best performance of the season, in 3rd place. A unique 1-2-3 for the Coventry based Team! Jonathan Wears was also in brilliant form, winning the Yorkshire Cycling 15 mile Time Trial in a time of 30:35. This is Jonathans first ever Open Time Trial victory and follows on from a series of top class performances in recent weeks. Ian Cooper travelled all the way up to Bashall Eaves in North West Lancashire to compete in Round 1 of the National Road Race Series for Veteran riders. Cooper in his first season with Team Jewson, is better known as a Track and Short Circuit rider, but he performed excellently on this very tough and hilly event against the U.K.'s leading riders to take a well earned 3rd place.
